Reset a forgotten password
If you can't remember your password, you can reset it yourself from the sign-in page — no need to contact an administrator.
Start the reset
- Go to the sign-in page (/login) and select Forgot password?.
- In the popup, enter the email address for your account and select Send reset code.
- If that email belongs to a Stayant account, we send you an email containing a reset link and a reset code.
For your security, we always show the same confirmation message whether or not the email is registered — so the page never reveals which addresses have accounts.
Finish the reset — two ways
The email gives you two ways to set a new password, and both do the same thing:
- Use the link. Click Reset password in the email. It opens a page where you choose a new password and confirm it.
- Paste the code. Copy the reset code from the email and paste it into the popup you started from (the one that's still open in your browser tab), then enter your new password.
Either way, once you save the new password you'll be asked to sign in with it.
Good to know
- Reset codes expire after 1 hour. If yours has expired, just request a new one from the sign-in page.
- Only one email every 5 minutes. Requesting a second code straight away doesn't send another, even though the page still confirms it was sent — wait a few minutes, and check your spam folder before trying again.
- Each code works once. After a successful reset the code can't be reused.
- Resetting signs out other sessions. For safety, completing a reset signs your account out everywhere, so anyone who shouldn't have access loses it immediately.
- Passwords must be at least 8 characters.
- If you didn't request a reset, you can ignore the email — your password won't change until someone completes the reset with the code, which only arrives in your inbox.
Already signed in?
If you know your current password and just want to change it, you don't need this flow — open Profile (bottom of the sidebar, or /profile) and use Change Password instead.
