The Scrapbook view for Feature List
The Feature List block normally lays its items out as a grid of cards. Its Scrapbook view swaps that for something more informal: one item per row, running down the page, with the photo and the text on alternating sides and every panel sitting at a slight tilt — like prints laid out on a table.
It suits "things to do nearby" sections, local attraction round-ups, and anywhere a rigid grid feels too corporate. Each item keeps its own call-to-action button, so every attraction can link somewhere different.
Turning it on
- Open the page in the block editor and click your Feature List block.
- In the Style panel near the top of the sidebar, set Layout to Scrapbook.
- A Tilt dropdown appears further down, among the Feature List's own settings (where Columns and Alignment normally sit).
That's it — the frame, the shadow and the alternating sides all come as part of the view. You don't have to switch on card styling separately.
Tilt
Tilt controls how far the panels lean. The image, the text panel and the button are each given a slightly different angle, and every other row leans the opposite way, so the result looks hand-placed rather than uniformly slanted.
| Setting | What you get |
|---|---|
| None (straight) | Everything square. The alternating layout without the tilt. |
| Subtle | A barely-there lean — enough to soften the grid. |
| Medium | The default. Clearly tilted, still tidy. |
| Playful | The most pronounced lean. |
On phones the tilt is automatically halved. A panel that's nearly the full width of the screen needs much more room to lean than one sitting in a two-column row, so Stayant reduces the angle rather than letting the page scroll sideways. You don't need to configure anything for this.
Panel colour and shadow
Two settings under Panel style let you tune the frame:
- Shadow — how much the panels appear to lift off the page. Leave it on Default (soft) unless you want them flatter or more dramatic.
- Panel colour — the frame colour. Left on auto it follows your site theme, which means it stays white on a light site and turns dark automatically if a visitor is browsing in dark mode. Set an explicit colour only if you want it fixed.
Filling in the items
Each item in the list becomes one row. For the layout to read the way it's meant to, give every item:
- an image — rows without one still work, but the panel sits on its own across the middle rather than beside a photo;
- a title and a short description — titles are shown in capitals with wide letter spacing, in whatever font your site theme uses;
- a CTA text and CTA link — the button only appears when both are filled in. If you enter button text but no link, the editor warns you and the button is left off the published page.
The Style dropdown beside CTA text picks between a filled button, an outlined one, and a plain text link.
What's hidden in this view
Columns, Alignment and Card style disappear from the sidebar while Scrapbook is selected. They only apply to the grid layout, and the Scrapbook view sets its own equivalents. Switch Layout back to Classic and they come straight back with your previous settings intact.
Checking it
The editor canvas shows the Scrapbook view exactly as it will publish — tilt, frames, images and buttons included — so you can tune the Tilt setting and see the result immediately. Use Preview to see the whole page on your live site's layout before publishing.
