Setting up your account
The setup wizard guides you through everything needed to start taking bookings. It opens automatically for new accounts and always drops you on the next step you haven't finished. If you sign in again before finishing, we take you straight back to it, unless you clicked Skip for now. After that, the Get ready for your first booking card on your dashboard keeps track of what's left (see Getting ready for your first booking).
Each step shows a numbered list of the setup steps alongside the form, with a progress bar and completed steps ticked off. You can move Back and Continue between steps, and skip the optional ones to finish later. A step ticks itself off automatically once the underlying thing actually exists — for example, Add your properties completes as soon as you have one property, and Extras and charges is already complete because we set up sensible defaults for you (see below).
Accepting the terms. To create an account you tick a box confirming you agree to the Terms of Service, which include the Data Processing Addendum covering your guests' data, and that you've read the Privacy Policy. We record which version you accepted. Team members you invite later don't need to accept them separately; they work under your account's agreement.
If sign-up doesn't work. If an account already exists for your email address, the sign-up form says so and offers Sign in and Reset password links. If you see Too many attempts, wait the number of minutes shown and try again.
Your free trial has already started. Signing up puts your account on a 14-day free trial — no card, no plan to pick, nothing to pay. A small N days left in trial chip in the top bar keeps count; Owners and Admins can click it to open the Plan page and Upgrade whenever they're ready. See Your subscription plan for how that works and how to choose a plan whenever you're ready.
Verify your email. Until you confirm your email address, a reminder banner appears across the app with a Resend email button. Click the link in the email we sent to clear it. Nothing in the wizard is blocked while you wait.
1. Your company (already done)
You gave us your company name when you signed up, so this step is ticked off for you and the wizard starts at Add your properties. The name appears on guest emails, invoices, and your website.
To change it, click Set your company name in the step list:
- Edit the Company name.
- To change your URL slug (lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens — used in your tenant URL), open Advanced. Most people never need to.
- Click Save and continue.
2. Add your properties
You need at least one property to continue. Four tabs give you different ways to add them:
- Add manually — enter a property name, type and Nightly rate (your standard price per night — required, and more than 0), plus max guests, bedrooms, and bathrooms, then click Add property. The nightly rate becomes the property's default price, so it's bookable straight away; add weekend and seasonal prices on the Pricing page later.
- Upload spreadsheet — upload a CSV with the headers
Name, Type, MaxGuests, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, MinimumNights, DefaultNightlyRate, NightlyCostPrice, Description, Slug. OnlyName, Type, MaxGuests, Bedrooms, Bathroomsare required.NightlyCostPriceis optional — it's your internal cost (never shown to guests); leave the column blank to skip it. Click Download template for a ready-made file with exactly these headers and one example row — replace the example with your properties and upload it. After import you'll see a row-by-row result table showing what succeeded or failed. - Import from Smoobu — moving from Smoobu? Upload your Smoobu booking export. Stayant lists the accommodations in it, shows which properties will be created, and — once you confirm — creates them and imports your direct and website bookings. See Importing from Smoobu.
- Sync calendars — if you're already on Airbnb, Booking.com or similar, paste the iCal URL each platform gives you (one per property) to import booked dates as calendar blocks. Add a property first, then attach feeds to it. Click Add & sync to connect and immediately pull the calendar; a status badge shows Synced, Pending, or Error.
A counter at the bottom shows how many properties you've added. Click Continue once you have at least one.
For full channel-manager integration (Channex), contact support after onboarding — the iCal option only imports blocked dates.
3. Extras and charges
Your account already comes with sensible defaults so you can take bookings straight away:
- A Cleaning Fee and a Booking Fee, both applied to every booking. The Cleaning Fee is mandatory; the Booking Fee can be removed from an individual booking.
- A Pet Fee you can switch on per property.
- A few bookable extras — Early Check-In, Late Check-Out and Cot Hire.
Because these defaults exist, this step is already complete. Review or customise them any time:
- Set up charges — cleaning fees, deposits, sales tax, and custom charge types.
- Set up extras — bookable add-ons guests pick during booking, like pets or breakfast.
Click Continue when you're happy. (If you remove every charge and extra, you'll need to add at least one back before this step will complete.)
4. Set up your website (optional)
Show your properties to guests with the built-in website. A website is optional — you can launch one later.
- Click Build my website — answer a few questions and we'll draft your site for you to review (if the AI site builder isn't in your plan, the button opens the regular site builder instead). It opens in the same window.
- Pick up where you left off from the Get ready for your first booking card on your dashboard. If you've created a page for your site (published or not), the Website step shows Finish; if not, it shows Skip for now so you can move on and build your site whenever you're ready.
5. You're all set
The final screen confirms your account is ready. Click Go to dashboard to start managing your properties. Anything you skipped will still appear on the dashboard checklist so you can finish it later.
